Weve grown significantly in the last 18 months and are evolving our Marketing structure to reflect that.About The RoleWe are seeking a hands-on IT & InfoSec Manager to own and scale our IT and security functions in a growing FinTech company. As our first in-house IT hire, you will work closely with the CTO to develop IT strategies, coordinate with our Managed IT Service Provider, and ensure our technology systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This remote UK-based role requires occasional travel to our London office for in-person IT support.ResponsibilitiesIT ManagementOversee and manage all internal IT systems, including end-user devices, SaaS platforms, and network infrastructure.Act as the primary point of contact between the company and the existing Managed IT Service Provider, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.Administer, monitor, and optimize our suite of productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Slack, Lastpass).Lead IT support for ~100 employees across two remote locations. We are mostly Mac users with a handful of Windows machines.Ensure a smooth onboarding/offboarding process and resolving technical issues efficiently.Implement and maintain identity and access management (IAM) systems, including SSO and MFA.Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to support company growth and enhance operational efficiency.Partner with the CTO to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business needs.Plan and budget for IT and security investments, including hardware, software, and services.Work closely with other departments to align IT and InfoSec initiatives with business objectives.Regularly assess the performance of the MSP, identify gaps, and refine the division of responsibilities between in-house and outsourced IT functions.Information SecurityDevelop, implement, and enforce information security policies, procedures, and best practices.Work with the MSP to implement security-first IT practices.Monitor and respond to security threats, incidents, and vulnerabilities.Improve endpoint protection, data encryption, and backup systems to safeguard sensitive company and customer information.Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Lead employee training and awareness programs on cybersecurity practices.What You'll Need To Succeed5+ years of experience in IT management or system administration2+ years in an InfoSec-related roleTechnical Skills:Proficiency in managing SaaS platforms like Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools (e.g., Jumpcloud).Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and cloud-based networking solutions.Experience with IAM systems (e.g., Azure AD / Microsoft Entra) and security tools (e.g., endpoint protection, DLP, SIEM).Hands-on expertise with troubleshooting hardware, software, and SaaS issues.Security Knowledge:Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or NIST.Experience with incident response and risk management.Knowledge of Zero Trust architectures and security-first IT practices.Soft Skills:Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with external partners, such as an MSP.Strong organisational and project management skills.A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with the ability to scale IT processes for a rapidly growing company.Preferred QualificationsCertifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.Experience working in the fintech industry or other highly regulated environments.Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages.
