Position Details
Our Finance team is looking for new talent as Revenue Accounting Manager (m/f/d). Office based in Manchester UK; Permanent full-time employment.
How You’ll Add Value
We are seeking a hands-on experienced Revenue Accounting Manager (m/f/d) to join our team. The Revenue Accounting Manager (m/f/d) will report to the Controller for Sample Management Solutions. This key position within the accounting function is responsible for ensuring proper revenue recognition in assigned areas of business including provision of long-term and short-term manufacturing software service contracts with customers while ensuring compliance with applicable US GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for provision of accounting for long-term and short-term manufacturing software service contracts with customers.
- Reviewing performance of contracts; drawing up cost revenue forecasts based on inputs from project management.
- Reviewing revenue transactions; ensuring correct application of revenue recognition rules; coordinating with business teams to gather necessary supporting documentation.
- Delivering timely accurate monthly financial results along with insightful analysis including preparation review journal entries balance sheet reconciliations monthly intercompany tie outs oversight unusual transactions reporting provided help senior management understand underlying business drivers.
- Documenting providing clear audit trail for accounting existing projects.
- Collaborating with Project Management team monitoring reporting project financials.
- Performing revenue testing assigned areas ensuring proper adherence applicable policies internal control procedures.
- Accountable key customer projects Sample Management Solutions controlling project spend particularly engineering projects.
- Point contact within division accounting all key contracts updating documentation current proposed treatment project accounting.
- Reconciling WIP deferred revenue stock long-term debtors accounts maintaining clear documentation organizing data allowing reviewer readily conclude implications transactions.
- Drafting monthly management accounts showing progress each project potential risks success changes one month next driving actions improve revenue recognition process engaging projects system process improvements supporting any other accounting tasks assigned support business leading developing high performing team accounting professionals promoting culture.
What You Will Bring
Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred; strong background in Revenue Recognition experienced Long Term Project Accounting; 7+ years progressive accounting experience 5+ years Revenue Recognition; strong technical USGAAP IFRS knowledge; strong interpersonal skills proven record successful collaboration team members stakeholders; experience large-scale ERP systems required knowledge Oracle Cloud OneStream plus; strong process focus improvement mindset Six Sigma Lean trained plus strong project management skills excellent communication ability multi-task complex dynamic environments experience working global company SOX compliant environment preferred demonstrating sound work ethic respect cultural sensitivity awareness self-starter effective time management organizational prioritization skills strong analytical/problem solving detail-oriented ability work independently meet deadlines sense urgency self-motivation personal commitment meeting deadlines.
