Description

Main tasks are the following:

Controlling Quality of Civil works
- Carry out daily inspections of the works.
- Carry out weekly site inspections with the civil works sub-contractor.
- Ensure the quality and inspection plan is implemented and complied with.
- Inspection of the works at designated hold points.
- Conduct periodic audits of the civil sub-contractor to ensure they are working to the correct revision of the drawings/specification.
- Raise NCR's where required and ensure agreed corrective action is implemented.
- Discharge the role of Temporary Works Co-Ordinator and ensure all TW processes are followed in line with BS 5975:2019 and company policy with support and guidance of the Company Designated Individual.
- To ensure where reasonably practicable the compliance of the Civil Sub-Contract, and adherence to the agreed design and relevant specifications, inform Head Office immediately of any deviation, recommend appropriate actions, obtain approval, and monitor that agreed actions are carried out.
- Liaise with customers' Civil Engineer/Quality Engineer to ensure they have access to inspect works when required.
- Collecting, preparing, and issuing necessary reports, data, results or other documentation requested by Customer.
- Ensure that any planning conditions are complied with.
- Ensure building regulations are adhered to; liaise with building inspector for access at appropriate stages.
- Advise Project Civil Engineer on design issues; agree on changes.
- Prepare snagging list; issue it to civil works subcontractor/project team.
-Monitor/review progress on snagging items; ensure timely closure at acceptable standards.
-On a weekly basis carry out an audit on civil contractors' working drawings for correct revisions; issue NCR if incorrect revision is used.
-Setup, Control & Coordinate hand-over of completed civil works to installation team.

Controlling Civil Works Costs
The RCE will assist site manager, PM, QS & contracts manager by:
- Advising on potential variations
- Reviewing variations/claims
- All site instructions issued by RCE must be approved by Site Manager prior.

Site Management, Health & Safety
- Assist Site Manager as needed.
- Assist Health & Safety manager as needed.
- Review all RAMS from Civil sub-contractor alongside Health & Safety Manager
- Ensure safe work practices per Health & Safety policy/procedures from Civil Sub-contractor
- Attend Monthly site meetings
- Attend design reviews
- Maintain daily site diary recording progress/staffing/subcontractors/schedule etc.
Prepare weekly report status/progress highlighting issues for project team circulation
Maintain photographic record.

Schedule
Monitor civil subcontractors' progress for schedule compliance
Monitor resources ensuring schedule can be met
Report schedule/resource issues to Site Manager.

Environmental
Ensure civil works sub-contractor follows environmental procedures/legislation.

Project Documentation
Review subcontractors’ as-built mark-ups; forward approved copies to project Civil Engineer
Review updated drawings against as-built 'mark-ups'; confirm changes updated correctly
Prepare/examine commissioning results records/drawings/instructions upon completion delivering them Head Office verified by Customer's Civil Site Engineer.

Health and Safety
Demonstrate EHS leadership ensuring STOP WORK POLICY implementation in activities
Ensure application EHS Policy/procedures in all activities
Communicate regularly policies/processes/subcontractors
Participate in EHS Gemba walks
Identify/evaluate EHS risks implementing practical measures
Set example demonstrating proper acts observing work conditions/behaviors reporting deviations/highlighting achievements/safe behaviors
Actively participate defining corrective actions when unsafe/uncontrolled risks observed.

Core Skills / Qualifications
An appropriate qualification in Civil Engineering degree level demonstrated years industry experience
Previous experience construction key elements including Civil Works
Appropriate industry-recognized Temporary Works Coordinator qualification
Great interpersonal skills ability working extensive teams under challenging situations
Knowledge Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations/best practices
Full Clean UK driving license.
