The Site Manager is responsible for the entire scope of construction site activities during ITO and OTR, acting under the direction and on behalf of the project director or Project Manager. Within a given project, they define the site works strategy, lead the site teams, and manage the execution of the project scope of work across multiple sites when needed. They will ensure that Safety, Quality, Costs and Schedule comply with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulation.
Role Overview
In ITO
- Coordinate costing & scheduling of site activities.
- Prepare tender documents related to construction & Installation activities.
- Lead the definition of contracting strategy (sub-con / partner) and its development and application throughout ITO phases with support from EHS, Quality, Planning & Sourcing.
- Actively participate in project teams from feed stages all the way through completion.
During OTR
- Ensure consistent application of defined contracting strategy.
- Ensure timely definition and issuance of sub-contracts with EHS, Quality, Planning, Contract Management & Sourcing support.
- Act as main point of contact for commercial aspects of all site sub-contracts.
- In case of partner/consortium act as main point for all construction-related topics.
- Ensure integration of Customer EHS requirements in project-specific EHS procedure with EHS department support.
- Responsible for planning C&C activities within overall project schedule; implementation of construction management (LPS) on each site towards on-time delivery.
- Manage risks and opportunities related to Construction & Commissioning activities.
- Prepare staffing plan; mobilization of site teams; follow up actuals vs plan.
- Set goals/objectives for mobilized site managers on projects.
- Liaise with design office for timely issuance data required for preparation (specs/designs/BOQ/material lists).
- Initiate implementation CMS (Completion Management System) & definition TOPs with Project Commissioning Manager.
- Support project leadership during important meetings with customers.

People Management
- Lead/manage site teams to ensure performance standards/project objectives/policies/procedures are met.
- Ensure team has right level know-how/competency through coaching/development.
Health and Safety
- Demonstrate EHS leadership; ensure STOP WORK POLICY is implemented within team .
- Ensures application GE GRID EHS Policy/procedures in all activities .
- Communicate regularly on policy/process to all staff (GE GRID employees/non-GE Grid); ensure their application by stakeholders onsite .
- Take responsibility to reward/encourage proactive steps toward matters related to workplace safety .
- Participate in EHS Gemba walks ; lead improvement initiatives at sites under responsibility .
- Identify/evaluate risks ; implement practical measures .
- Set example by demonstrating proper acts ; actively observe work conditions/behaviors ; give immediate constructive feedback ; celebrate achievements/safe behaviors .
- Promote identification hazards/nearmisses actively/routinely among teams .
- Participate defining corrective actions when unsafe/uncontrolled risk observed .
Quality

Report/resolves non-conformances/process timely .
Put in place Site procedures ensuring Works conducted satisfaction Customer / GE Grid standards .
Ensure collection key information sites preparation Lessons Learned capitalization future projects .

Key Performance Indicator Management
Provide timely status metrics performance within projects:
Weekly safety metrics observations
Weekly LPS Prod management indicators (Make ready,PPC)& Monthly variance milestones
Monthly report subcontract status
Monthly report spend vs budget(personnel workload/site costs/subcontracts)
Skills / Qualifications
An appropriate qualification Civil/Electrical Engineering degree level extensive experience advantageous but equivalent experience considered also Have appropriate health/safety experience/training qualifications line international standards roles nature.GWO certification added advantage.Background Building Services,electrical works commissioning.Experience Previous experience undertaking role Construction Manager large EHV Substation Projects.Construction experience UK advantage not essential.Have previous installation commissioning key elements including:Civil Works Building services auxiliaries HV&MV equipment Control&Protection system Commissioning Knowledgeable international standards 'best practice' relation construction.Knowledgeable environmental legislation good industry practice relation works.Knowledgeable key applicable standards specifications associated civil electrical works applicable countries region.Have offshore platforms EI works added advantage.Will be required travel frequently various sites across region yards world offshore wind farm projects.Ability work remotely integrate GEs wider team.Ability communicate effectively accurately concisely report verbally writing.Proficiency ENGLISH mandatory additional language proficiency European languages added advantage.IT proficiency including collaborative platforms tools.
