Our MissionRadical Forge is a Middlesbrough, UK-based developer that has provided co-development services on a range of AAA and indie titles. In 2021, the company created its first original IP, 'Brightpaw', which Rogue Games published on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One/Series S/X, Google, and iOS. The studio is currently working on the much-anticipated silly, physics-based, sandbox farming game, 'Southfield'.Since its beginnings in 2017, the company has grown to over 60 incredibly talented, collaborative, and creative individuals. We firmly believe that treating individuals with genuine respect, understanding, and kindness creates a welcoming culture that allows creativity to thrive and for individuals to join together to create games they are genuinely proud of.Your MissionWork closely with artists and engineers to design, research, schedule and implement rendering featuresHelp optimize and polish existing graphics featuresFinding solutions to rendering problems and maintain our current systemsWork within on our new in-house graphics engine and toolsIdeal Applicant3+ years game industry programming experienceStrong knowledge of C++, graphics engine & shader programming models & dedicated languages such as HLSLFamiliarity with global lighting methods, dynamic lighting, shadow rendering and similar concepts3D math skillsPassion for graphics programming and staying on top of current techniquesAbility to write clear, maintainable, portable codeMust be a self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and cooperative attitudeDegree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience Knowledge of rendering APIs (D3D12, Vulkan)Experience with MMOs, as a player or developerStrong debugging skillsThis role is fully remote.We will require all applicants to live in the UK, and have a pre-existing right to work in the UK.The role will initially be a 12 month contract with the potential to extend after this.Interested in the job but don't feel you match the criteria?
