Key Competencies And Underpinning Knowledge:
- Experience on significant Infrastructure projects, especially Defence and Energy.
- Understanding of the Cost drivers that define a project and ability to convert engineering data into meaningful cost drivers.
- Understanding of all aspects of direct and indirect Costs.
- Communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present cost work concisely.
- Ability to challenge colleagues in a constructive manner to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to interact effectively with colleagues in many different disciplines involved in our Clients Programme.
- Familiarity with government initiatives and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Single point of contact for all our client’s infrastructure costs; working closely with Estimating Management team
to implement/maintain Cost Management/Estimating systems ensuring accurate reporting/benchmarking/analysis
of clients’ infrastructure costs.
- Support implementation of accurate Cost measurement processes including progress/performance measurement.
- Provide professional advice covering clients’ infrastructure costs
to stakeholders (including but not limited
to Procurement Specialists/Cos t / Contract Management Personnel/Estimators/Project Controls).
- Ensure continuous development/improvement
of Client’s policies/procedures/resources for all cost related controls services.
- Work closely with Scheduling Team ensuring integration/alignment
of cost models/schedules.
-Aid in development benchmarking database/reporting process providing timely/accurate advice informing decision making.
Requirements:
- Member Royal Institution Chartered Surveyors (RICS), ACostE , ICES or similar relevant professional association/NVQ Level 3 Project Controls
- Degree/equivalent experience/NVQ Level 2 Project Controls
- Quantity surveying skills/comprehensive understanding construction industry
- Familiarity government initiatives/policies
