Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps with a passion for building scalable, high-performance applications. The successful candidate will be a key part of a global team that develops cutting-edge financial technology, enhancing business operations with robust and efficient solutions. You will be working across the full project life cycle, from requirements analysis and design to development, deployment, and DevOps automation for continuous delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parallelize and Optimize Calculations: Use Apache Spark to optimize accounting calculations and data processing.
- Develop and Maintain Backend Services: Create and manage RESTful web services to integrate with other applications, adhering to pre-established contracts.
- Batch Data Management: Handle data orchestration, focusing on performance and stability to ensure smooth and reliable data processing.
- Collaborate with Global Teams: Work with diverse teams across multiple locations, including Montreal, New York, London, Budapest, and India, to deliver high-quality solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Back End development.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Spring) and Scala.
- Experience with Relational Databases (eg, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, DB2) and Big Data repositories (eg, Hadoop, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with Apache Spark for parallel processing.
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux application debugging.
- Experience with DevOps automation (eg., AutoSys; UNIX Shell Scripting; Perl; or Python).
- Familiarity with Front End technologies like Angular; React; or JavaScript/Typescript.
- Understanding of accounting and finance in the financial sector.
- Experience with business reporting concepts and data sciences.
