Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-voltage (HV) cable systems for National Grid projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including thermal, electrical, and mechanical calculations, to support the design and optimization of HV cable systems.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and site personnel, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform site visits and inspections as required, ensuring the proper installation and commissioning of HV cable systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in HV cable design and engineering.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in HV cable design engineering preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant standards regulations including IEC BS National Grid specifications Proficiency using designing software tools such CYMCAP AutoCAD other relevant applications Strong analytical problem-solving skills ability perform detailed technical calculations Excellent communication interpersonal skills ability work effectively collaborative team environment Ability manage multiple projects priorities fast-paced deadline-driven environment Willingness travel sites required
