Purpose of the Role:
Working with a team of experienced RF, electronics, and mechanical engineers, you will contribute to the design of radio frequency products. Responsibilities include analogue and digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout, ensuring electrical performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements are met.

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Design and layout electronic circuits incorporating mixed technologies for telecommunications and defence products.
- Specifically responsible for the design of:
- Low voltage module power supplies including linear and switch mode PSUs.
- Component bias circuits.
- Analogue circuits including signal conditioning, filters, op-amps.
- Digital circuits utilising glue logic, ADCs, DACs & microprocessors.
- Detailed analogue and digital electronic circuit specification and design including component selection and circuit simulation.
- Define circuit board requirements including materials and layer stack-up.
- Schematic generation and PCB layout – including preparation and implementation of best practice design flow procedures, library management, BoM generation and control.
- Deliver fully verified and documented designs in line with project-defined technical schedule cost constraints thermal MTBF component derating analysis completion checking documentation example logbooks data packs peer review preparation release production communicate negotiate specs changes vendors CEM subcontractors undertake verification validation test specifications reports reliability testing evaluation equipped labs pro-actively participate reviews initiate mitigate risk appropriate handle obsolescence issues propose suitable alternatives problem-solving fault diagnosis manufactured introduction definition train-out diagnostic procedures meet departmental objectives allocated Team Leader

Requirements:
The successful candidate will satisfy the following requirements:
Relevant Degree (or equivalent). Experience in circuit schematic multi-layer mixed-technology layout manufacturing pack generation using Altium Designer Demonstrable experience component level electronic development awareness high-volume surface mount process / technologies excellent hands-on measurement diagnostic skills using RF equipment ability conduct minor SMT reworks down desirable microwave implementation desirable
