Description
We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of complex electro-mechanical projects with significant software, firmware and mechanical components. This role requires a professional with significant personal drive who can effectively integrate into an established team, lead engineers, and manage the commercial and product-focused aspects of the projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical project management skills, with a proven track record in delivering complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Coordination and Communication:
- Working closely with the product team lead define and implement a communication and interaction plan that ensures effective coordination between engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Working from the core product ensure that all specifications are locked and met, project risks are effectively highlighted and mitigated, and that there is alignment between hardware, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
- This involves regular status updates, facilitating meetings, and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Comprehensive Project Planning and Risk Management:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that cover all phases of the projects, incorporating robust risk and schedule management.
- These plans should integrate the needs and activities of multiple business units, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
- The framework should include detailed project schedules identifying & mitigating risks while adjusting priorities as necessary to ensure timely & efficient project execution.
- This provides clear visibility into project progress & potential issues enabling proactive management & resolution of risks & delays.
Product Delivery Transition Activities:
- Oversee delivery of products managing transition activities to manufacturing supporting service delivery.
- Ensure products are delivered on time meeting quality performance standards.
- Coordinate transition to service production including handover operational teams training support setup involving detailed planning execution ensuring smooth transition minimal disruption ongoing operations.
Manage Multiple Project Phases:
- Oversee completion various project phases coordinating across team resolve residual technical quality issues clear focus timelines subsequent phases.
Technical Understanding:
- Work closely engineering teams cut through technical challenges helping prioritise solve complex issues.
Commercial Product Focus:
- Maintain strategic view projects ensure time-to-market objectives achieved products meet commercial goals.
Support Structure:
- Work supporting project managers ensure smooth governance projects both high-level leadership day-to-day operational needs met.
Budget Resource Management:
- Oversee resource planning budget management ensure cost-efficiency throughout projects.
Collaboration Technical Product Lead/Owner:
- Work closely technical product lead/owner current production terminal Integrated Product Team (IPT) responsible maintenance enhancement existing generation 1 terminal related multi-purpose bays software platform.
Execution Work Packages Small Projects:
- Manage execution work packages small projects deliver bespoke customer needs evolve product feature set based agreed roadmap.
SCRUM Sprint Release Planning:
- Utilize combination SCRUM sprint release planning along with project management experience ensure efficient effective delivery.
- Ensure demand changes platform product captured understood prioritized agreed periodic basis resource demand necessary financial approval quantified agreed upon delivery plan maintained up-to-date reflecting current future scope.
Support Scheduler PMO:
- IPT supported scheduler PMO support person ensure details maintained accordance governance control standards reporting structure this role report Engineering Product Delivery team but have 'dotted line' accountability PMO adherence standards governance portfolio timeline.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Experience managing complex electro-mechanical product deliveries balance technical commercial responsibilities.
Experience:
8+ years in project management preferably related field experience managing multiple complex hardware software firmware concurrently
Technical Skills:
Proven ability manage complex engineering projects experience concepts system design execution across disciplines transfer manufacturing understanding relevant industry plus
Leadership Communication:
Strong ability manage cross-functional teams communicate effectively engineers present information clearly stakeholders
Project Management Tools:
Familiarity Agile/Scrum methodologies portfolio management tools certification (PMP PRINCE2 etc.) familiarity relevant systems
