Company Overview:
Our client provides a turnkey solution for customers by combining their Main Contractor management offering with their in-house trade packages. Some of their teams include Fit Out, Electrical, Mechanical, BMS, TEGG, Frameworks, North, Design, and Frameworks Critical Services.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to interrogate and define Client briefs from site visits to produce detailed estimates.
- Liaise with internal and external services teams and coordinate fully inclusive estimates.
- Establish new tender opportunities by understanding job specifications and drawings.
- Accurately calculate take-offs from drawings including materials and hours.
- Maintain the approved suppliers list.
- Attend site/tender walkthroughs to cross-reference drawings to identify proactive solutions and avoid potential site interferences where required.
- Understand the planning and sequencing of construction projects.
- Communicate with clients to clarify unclear specifications/wording through RFI's.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing used for bid submission.
- Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-over, and project close-out meetings as needed.
- Support the Estimating Manager and Preconstruction Manager with their role.
Requirements:
- Tier 1 Main Contractor Estimating background
- Extensive technical understanding of Architectural, Builders work, and Civils packages
- Extensive experience in estimating and quoting
- Extensive understanding of Building regulations
- Ability to manage your own workload
- Proficient in MS Office (Word & Excel) and other related computer programs
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Full UK Driving license with the ability to attend site/tender walkthroughs covering the UK
