Project: Net Zero Teesside – EPC Power Plant with Carbon Capture Module
Location: Paris, France (6-12 months) → Teesside, UK (2-3 years)
Contract Type: Service Agreement – Contract Management & Subcontracting Support
Contract Form: NEC 4
1. Introduction
This Scope of Work (SOW) defines the services to be provided in support of the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) project for a Net Zero Teesside power plant, including a carbon capture module. The services will focus on contract and subcontract management to ensure the effective administration of both the prime contract and the main construction subcontractor, operating under NEC 4. The service provider will be embedded within the EPC Contractor’s Contract Management Team, supporting the project from contract award to construction close-out.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 Contract & Subcontract Administration
- Prime Contract Support: Assist in the administration and execution of the client bespoke contract, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Subcontract Oversight: Provide expert support in the post-award administration of the NEC 4 construction subcontract.
- Back-to-Back Contractual Alignment: Ensure all relevant provisions from the prime contract are effectively flowed down to the construction subcontract, assisting in the drafting and negotiation of Particular Terms & Conditions.
2.2 Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitoring of Obligations: Track and ensure adherence to contractual requirements, including:
- Notifications
- Insurances
- Bonds & Certifications
- Operational Obligations
- Coordination of Compliance Actions: Liaise with relevant departments to ensure risk mitigation and contractual compliance across the project.
2.3 Claims & Change Order Management
- Client Contract Management: Support the Lead Contract Manager in preparing, negotiating, and settling change orders and claims with the client.
- Subcontractor Claims Management: Assist the subcontracting team in handling contractual claims, amendments, and negotiations with the main construction subcontractor.
- Drafting & Correspondence: Initiate, review, and respond to contractual correspondence with clients, subcontractors, and third parties.
2.4 Legal & Commercial Liaison
- Interface with Legal Teams: Engage withthe legal department for advice on contract interpretation, dispute resolution,and compliance matters.
- Cross Department Collaboration: Work closelywith finance,tax insurance,and treasury teams to ensure proper contractual execution.
2.5 On-Site Contract Administration
- Construction Phase Support : Provide on-the-ground contractual support atTeesside site toensure effective subcontract field administration.
- Project Close-Out : Assistin finalising contractual obligations , claim settlements ,andsubcontractor close-out procedures .
