IDTechEx is recruiting a Business Development Manager with experience of hybrid sales who will be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle including qualifying leads, 'cold' contact calling, learning client objectives, arranging and delivering value-add demonstrations, conducting in-person meetings, representing IDTechEx at international events, creating business proposals, and strategically managing accounts.
As a Business Development Manager at IDTechEx, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our presence in the US market. Based in the UK, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving growth across the US. This role requires you to work US business hours to effectively engage with clients and partners. Your strategic vision, market insights, and ability to deliver tailored solutions will be crucial in achieving our ambitious goals and contributing to our international success.
In this role, you will be given a territory (which may change from time to time) in our growing research sales division. You will sell IDTechEx products and services which may include subscriptions, reports, and consulting services. You will be able to travel throughout the Americas to conduct sales in-person and remotely. You will have experience of managing accounts; demonstrated consultative sales skills; and creating appropriate detailed proposals.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Establish new business accounts through high volume daily cold-calling; prospecting at events; high activity on social media & contact databases; lead follow-up; monitoring relevant industry news to identify targets; creatively identifying new tools to achieve the same.
- Retain and grow existing accounts by ensuring needs are met while building trust.
- Prepare presentations/proposals for potential clients.
- Establish/develop strategic relationships with C-level executives.
- Negotiate contracts/agreements with clients/partners.
- Manage your designated territory/account sales pipeline while thinking strategically about developing your region/increasing revenue (your designated region/scope may change).
- Match client needs with IDTechEx products/services.
- Familiarise yourself with competitors/what sets us apart from competition/stay updated on industry trends.
- Achieve/overachieve targets set for you.
- Work closely with IDTechEx teams (including analysts/marketing) while maintaining analyst/client/industry relationships.
- Collaborate with marketing/sales teams both US & UK create effective strategies.
- Develop/implement strategic business plans supporting company-wide activities/initatives/goals.
- Follow progress/new trends impacting clients within market space/travel customer locations/conduct presentations/travel represent company events accurately maintain/update CRM database/provide reporting as required monitoring/reporting performance of development/sales activities.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years' B2B sales experience with consultative selling skills;
- Experience up-selling/customer account management large/small organizations;
- Able travel extensively;
- A person initiative/results driven/highly self-motivated/adapt quickly;
- Positive can-do attitude sense urgency/inititative;
- Creative thinking/problem-solving skills;
- Experience selling products/services preferably subscriptions/research reports marketing services open other industries as well);
- Excellent interpersonal/negotation IT skills;
- Excellent attention detail.
