Company Overview
NES Fircroft are partnering with our major Engineering & Services client to provide Electrical Engineers at all levels for long-term projects based out of their Warrington office. Hybrid working available. 3-year project! Mon-Fri minimum 37.5hrs per week.

Role
Lead Engineer on a Sellafield Project providing supervision, leadership, technical, delegation, guidance and stewardship for the projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Technically responsible for all Electrical Engineering work and allocating, supervising, and directing preparation of project deliverables. Subject to project size, will delegate some level of supervision and specific checking activities to appropriate competent personnel.
• Capable of formulating resolutions and supervision of technically challenging and/or high-profile issues, with support from Consultant Engineer / Lead Engineer or Project Engineering Manager, and effectively communicating with Clients and Senior Management.
• Supervises, reviews, and checks the Electrical activities including: Philosophies, Specifications, Schedules, Drawings & Diagrams, Datasheets and Technical Requisitions for long lead items.
• Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract by raising technical queries with projects / client.
• Capable of participating in Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Participates in multi-discipline Engineering Design Reviews and provides all necessary Electrical engineering input and support to close out of actions.
• Identifies a clear scope of work and prepares the Master Document Register (MDR). Responsible for planning / scheduling the Electrical Engineering activities and manpower resource. Quantifies the total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation and format of delivery, as well as other requirements for execution of the work. Provides necessary regular project controls / reporting input to Project Management.
• Provides support to Procurement including for long lead item enquiry prepares Technical Requisitions; reviews vendor documentation; provides Technical Bid Evaluation support to ensure design conformance.
• Ensures compatibility and conformance with client specifications; recommends cost effective improvements to equipment selection/specifications within the scope of client specifications/requirements.
• Consults Quality Assurance with any quality issues ensuring compliance with client's ISO Quality procedures; Project Quality Plan; Design Integrity processes/procedures.
• Co-ordinates Internal/client audit requests; facilitates audit procedures on engineering systems within department complying with client's accredited frameworks such as ISO 14001.
• Performs related duties as instructed by E,C&I Group Manager.

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:
• BSc/BEng with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.

Desirable:
• CEng

Knowledge Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 10 years general engineering experience; at least 7 years in Nuclear business sector focusing on design office/field engineering.
• Design/commissioning HV/LV electrical systems providing associated calculations.
• Design power distribution systems.
• Responsible for updating/maintaining/control Electrical Engineering technical documentation.
• Well-developed understanding Matrix management systems/organisational structures
• Good organizational/time management skills
• Ability problem-solve effectively
• Well-developed interpersonal/communication skills
• Ability effectively work in team
• Attention detail
• Well-developed computer skills knowledge databases/spreadsheets/engineering design programs
