Environment Manager, Release Manager. ETRM/CTRM, Commodities Trading, Energy Trading
Company Overview:
Our client is a global commodities trading firm, redesigning and redeveloping their trading applications estate. They are implementing a new CTRM/ETRM System which involves a lot of bespoke development and lots of frequent functionality releases.
Role Overview:
They are recruiting an experienced Environment and Release Manager to play a key role in delivering appropriate Dev, QA and Production environments and managing the release agenda to enable maximum benefit to the business. The successful candidate will have strong environment provisioning and a meticulous attention to detail. You'll define and deliver exceptional release process and work between the business, developers, QA and support teams to ensure environments are provisioned accordingly, releases are managed and all teams are working in unison. This role involves working closely with programme teams, stakeholders, Change Management, and Service Readiness to ensure seamless deployment of changes that support both business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage environments for ETRM and bespoke systems code deployments ensuring a smooth route to live.
- Oversee the merger of code in collaboration with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and Technical Delivery Leads.
- Develop and refine high-level implementation strategies, presenting plans to working groups.
- Take ownership of detailed release planning including availability, execution plans, and communication strategies.
- Forecast and coordinate implementation team resources including third-party involvement.
- Navigate the governance process for each release securing necessary approvals while ensuring compliance.
- Coordinate the implementation teams through all phases from deployment to live ensuring environment availability & capacity.
- Manage incidents effectively ensuring swift resolution.
- Oversee approval processes for change supporting successful go-live.
- Capture & integrate lessons learned continuously improving future implementations.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in leading Environment & Release Management within a complex programme environment (trading investment banking or commodities is essential industry experience).
- Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to navigate governance & approval processes.
- Experience in managing technical deployments & coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure & handle incident resolution effectively.
- A strategic thinker with excellent planning & organisational skills.
