Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our Clients HVAC Capability team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HVAC and Building Services, preferably with a focus on nuclear standards and processes. You will play a vital role in designing and modifying HVAC systems while confidently engaging with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the HVAC Manager/Principal Engineer.
- Collaborate within a Building Services engineering design consultancy environment.
- Uphold quality assurance and business management practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Explore innovative HVAC solutions while maintaining commercial viability.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Travel as needed within the UK.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum HND in Building Services Engineering or at least 10 years of HVAC design experience.
- Knowledge of UK regulations is essential.
- Experience in design deliverables for HVAC systems, including:
- Air change rate calculations
- Duct sizing and pressure loss calculations
- Development of HVAC Fire and Control Philosophy
- Ventilation system design for industrial environments
- Familiarity with nuclear standards and procedures is preferred (e.g., EG_0_1738_1 - Ventilation of Radioactive Areas).
- Proficient in HVAC design software (Hevacomp, OpenBuildings, AutoCAD, Revit) and MS Office applications.
- Experience producing documentation such as Functional Specifications and Validation Plans.
- Previous experience mentoring junior staff in nuclear ventilation design.
Desirable Experience:
- Thermal modelling expertise.
- Knowledge of steam and condensate processes.
- BPSS security clearance (SC preferred).
