Job Summary
The ICT Smart Building Project Manager will lead digital systems projects within the Programme team, focusing on developing business cases, specifications, implementations, and business change. The role involves managing projects and resources, reviewing project scope, and ensuring effective communication. The Project Manager will develop strategic project plans, produce monthly status reports for various boards, and maintain RAID logs to track risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions. The role also includes ensuring alignment between governance audiences, collaborating with external governance firms, and managing project quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
Develop and manage project plans, ensuring projects remain on-time and on-budget. Escalate risks and issues promptly, and ensure project benefits are defined, monitored, and realized.
Governance and Reporting:
Produce monthly project status reports for the Joint Development Vehicle (JDV) board, Operational Executive Board (OEB), and other governance bodies. Ensure all governance papers are aligned and communicated effectively.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate progress to senior stakeholders including the JDV,OEB IT Programme Board (ITPB),and ICT Programme Board (ICTPB). Establish and manage project meetingsand workshops.
Risk Management:
Maintain RAID logs ensuring risks issues,and dependencies are trackedand mitigated.Escalate risksand issuesto the appropriate boardswhen necessary.
System Implementation:
Collaborate with system suppliers technical architects,and solution vendors to ensure systemsare implemented in alignmentwith industry best practices.Ensure compliancewith regulatory standards including data protectionand cybersecurity.
Quality Assurance:
Developand maintain quality standardsfor work packages ensuringproject deliverablesmeet required standards.
Team Management:
Superviseproject teams fostering a creativeand fulfilling working environment.Develop weeklyproject highlightreportsand other documentationas required.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications:
Formal qualification in Project Management (PRINCE2 Practitioner level or equivalent).
Experience:
Experience managing NEC4 construction programmes including design development implementation,and change management.Experience in the NHS or healthcare sector is desirable.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal communication,and negotiation skills.Ability to work flexibly prioritise tasks,and meet deadlines.Strong organisational skillsand the abilityto delegate effectively.IT literacyincluding proficiencyin Office 365 Teams SharePoint,and Azure DevOps.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with clinical care workflows building systems(BMS EMS PSIM BIM)and NHS clinical applicationsis desirable.
