Immediate Long Term Contract Vacancy

Location: Central London Head Office

Client: Renewable Energy Company

Role Overview:
- Work on large scale district heating projects in the South of England.
- Report to the Project Manager and Manager Engineering Management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for engineering workstream on the project, leading internal and external engineering teams.
- Manage deliverables from external engineering contractors.
- Coordinate design development throughout project phases; set design requirements for engineers and monitor quality.
- Support Project Manager and PMA with stakeholder communication.
- Prepare phase-dependent documents (terms of reference, tenders for design consultants, etc.).
- Prepare cost estimates.
- Participate in project meetings, negotiations, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
- Ensure quality assurance and control during planning, tendering, construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
- Prepare meeting reports and presentations.
- Stay updated on project developments and technological advancements.

Profile Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or power plant engineering with experience in planning/project management.
- Experience operating district heating or combined heat/power plants is advantageous.

Professional Skills:
- Sound knowledge of heat generation processes; understanding interfaces between generation plants and district heating networks.
- Leadership qualities with excellent analytical skills.
- Strong focus on safety in design.
- Familiarity with scheduling/engineering processes.

Personal Competencies:
- Teamwork experience including cultural sensitivity.
- Knowledge of UK standards/regulations.
- Ability to work on interdisciplinary topics/interfaces with other departments.
- Comfortable working within governance-heavy environments; experienced in complex settings (e.g., concession-based development as part of ESCO).
- Calm demeanor under pressure; solution-oriented mindset.

Additional Information:
Frequent travel to projects/offices required; remote work possible when not traveling.
