The Opportunity
Our Client; a well-recognised and respected Materials Handling company who are among the world's largest suppliers of Automated Warehouse and Materials Handling solutions are now actively seeking an experienced Quality Consultant on a Contract basis. In this role, you will be leading and driving all Quality related matters at a major construction site in Leicestershire, which is in fact one of the largest and most important projects our Client has ever supported! Initially, the contract has an expected duration of 6 months, but this may see extension and is being offered as an opportunity outside of IR35 regulations and will be payable as a day rate.
The Role
As their Site Execution and resale Quality Professional, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and strong understanding of quality and project management to support the business during the Installation, Commissioning, and handover phase of the project. You will demonstrate the ability to be self-reliant, decisive, capable of independently managing your workload to ensure customer handover is successful. You will provide quality support to the business by leading root cause analyses (RCAs) utilizing data from their processes to identify.
Your Duties And Responsibilities Will Be
As the Quality Consultant, you will provide quality support during installation, commissioning, ramp-up, go-live phases of the project being present visible on-site – including but not limited to:
- Facilitate implementation process containment corrective action when CAPA issues are raised trigger lessons learned systemic issues required holding action owners accountable swift resolution issues.
- Provide Quality oversight I&TP process (Unite paper checklist process) performing Audits utilizing Data understand trends identifying actions lessons learned including regular reporting status installation engineering teams.
- Drive sub-contractor performance improvements supporting installation team.
- Perform Site Acceptance Test (FAT) 3rd party products systems.
- Support onboarding contractors ensuring quality requirements known understood.
- Audit de-snagging (punch list closure) activities performed installation assess data process drive improvement through lessons learned.
- Management workload ensure impacts priorities properly managed impact issues successful project delivery limited.
- Utilize advanced data analytics dissect prioritize issues applying Pareto analysis distil trends guide decision-making.
- Conduct root cause analysis sessions unravel resolve standard risk complex issues setting stage systematic quality improvements.
- Spearhead implementation corrective preventive actions derived RCAs ensuring sustainable enhancements quality performance.
- Be POC for quality customer representing customer interests perspectives within project.
- Ensure regular communication with Quality leadership keeping appraised progress key topics relevant wider business success project.
You Will Have The Following Qualifications & Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering is desirable; however those with HNC/HND equivalent relevant Quality Engineering experience considered. You need to be an experienced Quality Consultant who can take ownership site Quality activities major project familiarity site-based installation activities commissioning. You should demonstrate assertiveness drive agendas site lead these activities providing strong reporting skills Management experience Materials Handling (MHE), together background working complex environments building close relationships customer.
Should have strong foundational Project Management experience ability drive corrective actions challenging environment comprehensive understanding tools DFMEA PFMEA Control Plans GR&R Capability Studies Inspection Plans established proficiency improvement methodologies RCA 8D familiar writing technical reports overseeing Audits.
