Overview
An experienced Test Lead with a strong background in JavaScript-based testing frameworks and tools, specifically Playwright or Cypress, is required to join a Consultancy to work with a Financial client, on a contract basis.
Role Description
As a Test Lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end testing process, lead a team of skilled QA professionals, and drive the implementation of robust automation frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to establish efficient and scalable testing practices. Your leadership and technical expertise will play a key role in achieving seamless product releases and maintaining our commitment to excellence.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Test Lead (Automation)
- Skills in JavaScript testing, with experience in modern testing frameworks like Playwright and Cypress.
- Solid understanding of automation best practices and patterns (e.g., Page Object Model).
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Previous Government or Public Sector experience is advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA Strategy: Define and implement a comprehensive testing strategy, including manual and automated testing approaches.
- Automation Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks using JavaScript, Playwright, and Cypress.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of QA engineers; provide technical guidance; ensure the team meets project timelines and quality standards.
- Test Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define test objectives; write detailed test plans; create test cases to cover all functional integration; regression scenarios.
