Day Rate: £350 - £450 per day (outside IR35)

Novo Consultants is an award-winning forward-thinking Consultancy providing Quantity Surveyors and Planners to Contracting and Engineering Organisations. We provide a range of services from tender support through to final accounts, including claims and disputes, and bespoke training.
We have grown significantly over the last 5 years and now engage over 30+ construction professionals working across all construction sectors. We provide Services to the following companies: Costain, Balfour Beatty, BAM, Galliford Try, and Amey, together with various Tier 2 contractors and select Clients/Developers.
The Opportunity:
We are currently working with a client in the Warrington area and have the opportunity for a freelance/ contract SQS to work on a project for the next 3-6 months. The client is based in Warrington and the successful consultant will be required to be on site/ the office 3-4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and agreement of interim payment applications.
- Agreement and settlement of Final Accounts.
- Identification of events and issuing notices for variations/compensation events.
- Identification, evaluation, and agreement of variations/compensation events.
- Issuing of contractual notices and drafting of contractual communications.
- Preparing, evaluating, and submitting extension of time entitlements.
- Providing support on claims or problematic issues or projects.
- Providing support during formal disputes (i.e. Adjudication or Mediation).
- Procurement of sub-contractors.
- Management of sub-contractors, variations, payment certificates, final account agreements.
- Producing accurate cost and value reconciliations and outturn financial reporting.
- Managing assistant/graduate commercial team members.

To be successful as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor you'll need to have the following experience:
* Tier 1 Contractor or large Tier 2 involved in Infrastructure activities
* Experienced their own Project or worked closely with a Senior QS
* 8 years post-graduate experience
* Sound understanding of contractual terms (NEC)and/or other Contracts
* Experience in preparing cost & value reconciliations & out-turn financial reporting
* Experience in supply chain procurement
* Experience in managing supply chain & Sub Contractor accounts
* Understanding or experience of basic procedures & formalitiesof construction claims (i.e.Adjudication or Mediation)
* Competent in all aspects change management
* Well versed maximising opportunity within interim payment applications
* Excellent written verbal communication skills
* Experience drafting commercial communications notices
Skills And Qualifications:
* BSC in Quantity Surveying - Desirable
* Advancing RICS ICES membership
* Current CSCS card
* Excellent communication negotiation skills
* Well presented can articulate matters successfully
* Own transport driving license
* Will unite existing Team Members
