Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Waste Management Consultant to play a key role in the Atkins Waste and Resource Management business. You will be responsible for working within project teams to win and deliver work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to further establish their career in the waste industry. The successful applicant should be stimulated by fresh challenges and have a desire to progress their skills and expertise in the sector. The applicant should be working towards, or have full membership of, the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management or similar institute. Ideally you will have experience of working internationally and be willing to travel.

Requirements
- You will have graduated with an Honours or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Strong experience in the waste management industry in areas such as treatment technologies, waste planning, legislation.
- Up-to-date knowledge on current issues in waste resources management sector.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Have detailed knowledge of the waste management industry.
- Be capable of working both independently and within project teams.
- Have strong problem-solving communication skills.
- Be highly numerate literate with strong report writing analytical skills.
- Have knowledge of relevant codes of practice legislation applicable to waste management industry.
- Understand solid waste treatment systems: construction logistics; waste-to-energy; composting; advanced thermal treatment; recycling landfilling.
- Understand carbon impacts associated with waste industry analyze associated data.
- Have track record working within multidisciplinary teams on large infrastructure projects.
Role And Responsibilities
The role will require you to work within project teams delivering technically excellent solutions for our clients. You will lead support technical practical theoretical aspects on projects for public private sector clients UK internationally including but not limited:
- Waste strategies strategy implementation
- Business planning
- Waste modelling data analysis
- Legislative compliance
- Designing planning systems
- Waste audits input into large infrastructure construction logistics plans feasibility studies due diligence projects
You will lead projects support business development engage with clients confidently responding technical financial queries.
