Location: Cranfield
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (39 hours a week)
Pay Rate: £30.02 p/h

Overview:
We are recruiting a Infotainment and HMI Test Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis and may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with:
- Vehicle function, performance, reliability and regulation validation of infotainment, display, and/or parking systems to Nissan and regulatory requirement standards.
- Creation and management of test methods and procedures.
- Creation and management of test planning including change/variance impact analysis and resource management.
- Result analysis, judgement, and reporting (Cross function and upper management).
- Concern investigation, root cause analysis, and countermeasure recommendation to design, aftermarket, and manufacturing departments.
- Field investigation support on occasion.
- Reporting and supporting suppliers.
- Test/investigation reports, test plan, and test method.
- Secure the quality of electrical systems to Nissan standards.
- Complete responsible validation within project milestones.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development; completing a minimum of two vehicle developments or equivalent experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel abroad; typically a few days to two weeks but may occasionally require long-distance travel for up to ten weeks at short notice.
- Competent with PC applications including Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Self-motivating; self-managing; proactive; positive; energetic personality; flexible regarding working practices/hours.
- Ability to prioritise/multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Working knowledge of Nissan, Renault, Mitsubishi electrical architecture.
- Understanding of electrical theory/operation of electronic devices.
- Fluent written/verbal English language capability required.
- Experience with software application into vehicle ECUs in the manufacturing environment—flashing/coding/configuration/calibration experience preferred.
- Ability to risk assess software modifications/develop appropriate test plans required.
- Understanding network communications/multiple bus principles (CAN/LIN/Ethernet).
- Proficient in operating CANalyzer/CANape software or similar/interpreting results required.
- Ability to follow system circuit diagrams/identify electrical connections necessary.

Additional Skills:
- Demonstrated practical experience in problem-solving tools/techniques preferred.
- Familiarity with digital oscilloscopes/basic electrical test equipment desired.
