My client is a leading contractor in the rail and infrastructure sector and is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their dynamic projects based out of Birmingham. This exciting opportunity offers a pivotal role in overseeing commercial operations on major rail schemes, working closely with their key client and leading a team of six Managing Quantity Surveyors.
Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Lead and manage a team of 6 Managing Quantity Surveyors, ensuring commercial performance and project objectives are met.
ā¢ Develop and maintain strong relationships with the end client, acting as the primary commercial interface to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
ā¢ Conduct comprehensive reviews and management of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
ā¢ Oversee cost management, forecasting, and reporting to drive project profitability and efficiency.
ā¢ Provide strategic commercial guidance, supporting the delivery of rail schemes in line with company standards and client expectations.
ā¢ Lead contract negotiations, variations, and claims management to safeguard the companyās commercial interests.
ā¢ Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements within the rail sector.
ā¢ Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, planners, and engineers, to achieve project success.
Requirements:
ā¢ Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within the rail or infrastructure sectors.
ā¢ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
ā¢ Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing commercial teams effectively.
ā¢ Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, particularly with clients in the rail sector.
ā¢ In-depth understanding of cost control, contract law, and risk management within major infrastructure projects.
ā¢ Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
ā¢ Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related field.
