About the Role:
We have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Control Test Lead to join our Group IT Risk and Control Team and drive continuous improvement into our Controls testing and compliance activities alongside our UK and European colleagues. The team operates as a hybrid 1st/2nd line function, collaborating closely with IT, Control Owners, and Operators to manage IT controls, assess technology risks, and enhance the IT Risk and Control Framework, policies, and practices. Reporting directly into the IT Risk and Control Manager, you will have the opportunity to partner with stakeholders across the business, identifying and ensuring adequate controls are in place. Working as part of a small but growing team, you will be based at our EG Group Headquarters in Lancashire with flexible working options.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct compliance testing on in-scope IT General Controls (ITGC) to determine design and/or operational effectiveness of controls in line with our methodology and to external audit standard.
- Work with 3rd party suppliers to ensure adequate controls assurance is in place including performance of SOC control reviews.
- Perform quality assurance reviews over SOC and ITGC testing activities conducted by the wider team.
- Lead on issues management and remediation activities to drive improvement over controls performance.
- Provide operational support for new controls owners/operators; look for ways to improve maturity across process technology/people.
- Provide training/development to control owners/operators; ensure training materials are up-to-date.
- Manage test schedule using ServiceNow ensuring controls are tested in priority order; adjustments made as overall risk profile changes across the IT landscape.
- Inform stakeholders of improvement opportunities/control weaknesses providing actionable feedback/recommendations.
- Enhance/refine testing methodology adapting best practices/innovative approaches.
- Look for ways to enhance productivity/reduce error rate through controls automation using existing tools/technologies.
- Conduct continuous reviews on best working practices in ServiceNow improving performance/stakeholder experience.
- Enhance reporting/look for innovative ways produce data for different stakeholder types.
- Drive effective risk & control culture across EG Group promoting accountability/responsibility/action acting as an IT Control ambassador ensuring best practices shared/actions delivered.

What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified to degree level with CISA/CRISC or equivalent/QBE.
- Knowledge of ITIL/COBIT desirable.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow desirable.
- Demonstrate ability lead an IT control testing programme.
- Experience working within external audit team/managing external audits from corporate environment.
- Confident all aspects of design/test across access/change/operations domains related General Controls (ITGC).
- Experience working/reviewing SOC reports.
- Able partner within/beyond team building productive cross-business relationships.
- Strong organizational skills ability remain focused/self-driven changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication/presentation skills strong analytical/problem-solving skills able decipher complex information analyse/report different audiences organized/methodical excellent project management skills.
