Description
Requirements:
- Ambitious candidates who will provide excellence in helping develop this rapidly changing and important service.
- Keen to appoint 2 Specialists Doctor in Clinical Oncology to join a team of 23 Clinical Oncologists and 2 Medical Oncologists at the UHCW NHS Trust, ie the Arden Cancer Centre.
- Serving Coventry and the adjoining Cancer Units at South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT), George Eliot Hospital (GEH), Stratford Rigby Unit, and Rugby Maple Unit.
Position Details:
- These are 10 PA (1.0 WTE) posts based at the UHCW NHS Trust, Coventry.
- Opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary Lung or Neuro Oncology Team which includes Clinical Oncologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, chemotherapy nurses, and radiographers.
Post Information:
- Post-1: Neuro-Oncology at the UHCW, Lower-GI cancers at GEH, or any other tumour site TBC.
- Post-2: Lung and thoracic malignancies at the UHCW and lung SABR.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside consultants and lead site-specialist services including facilities for inpatients and outpatients, dedicated chemotherapy suites, and radiotherapy facilities.
- Support Acute Oncology Service, ward inpatient care; may contribute to On Call rota if desired.
- Expected to provide cross cover for MDTs (videoconferencing available)
and liaise with Acute Physicians/Emergency department as part of supporting Acute Nurse Led Oncology Service when on call.
Patient Care Locations:
Patients will be treated in both:
1. Arden Cancer Centre on UH site
2. Maple Unit on St Cross Hospital
3. Dorothea Unit at George Eliot Hospital
