Role Overview
The candidate will be working with a UK-based team of passionate programming-language subject matter experts, as well as developers, data scientists, and technical leads across the entire firm. The primary responsibility will be to help maintain an extensive library of C++ plug-ins for kdb users, as well as engineering internal tools and libraries where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an extensive library of C++ plug-ins for kdb users.
- Engineer internal tools and libraries as necessary.
- Collaborate with a team of developers, data scientists, and technical leads.
Skills Required
- Core C++ Development: Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Python Development: Experience with Python programming.
- Familiarity with SDLC: Understanding of the enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Linux: Experience working with Linux environments.
- Good Communication/Organisation Skills: Strong communication and organizational abilities.
Skills Desired
- Prior Experience with OCI Containerisation Tools/Platforms: Experience with tools like Docker, Kubernetes.
- Prior kdb+/q Experience: Willingness to learn kdb+/q if prior experience is not available.
- High-Level Understanding of Windows Development: Familiarity with Windows development principles.
Additional Information
- The role is primarily focused on C++ but requires openness to learning and working with KDB+/q and Python.
- Prior knowledge of KDB is not necessary, but a willingness to learn is required.
