Description
Our client are looking for a Senior Management Accountant on a contract basis.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 4 months
Location: Fully on-site @ One Southwark Bridge Road, London, SE1 9HL
Responsibilities:
- Month end process/Quarter/Year end & variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts reconciled to the Trial Balance.
- Provide Monthly variance analysis by comparing to Budget/Forecast/Prior Year with a detailed commentary. This will be reviewed in full by the Financial Controller.
- Calculation of accruals & deferrals of income, costs and inter-company, using IFRS principles. Prepare and post journals accordingly.
- Upload monthly schedules into Cartesis/SAP BFC ensuring that all figures are correct and supported by sufficient documents.
- Run monthly Management Packs for the Managing Partner and Business Directors.
- Ensuring compliance with ICFR (Internal Control Financial Reporting) company policies and SOX requirements so attention to detail is essential.
- Assist with the SOX and year-end audit by providing all relevant information to the auditors. There will also be client audits throughout the financial year.
- Liaise with Commercial Finance team as well as Finance Plus to resolve any reporting queries. Action any queries post month end.
- Ad hoc projects as directed by Financial Controller/Head of Commercial Finance.
- Monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations to audit standard.
Ensure that all salary control accounts are reconciled monthly.
Reporting of headcount to gross salaries on a monthly basis.
- Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements to allow better control or improved efficiencies in the department.
Business Partnering:
Business partnering through engagement with business on a regular basis including Microsoft Teams/face-to-face meetings Adding value to operational teams through analysis, reporting etc.
Key skills:
- Fully qualified accountant or equivalent (eg: CIMA, ACA, ACCA) MIN 3+ years post qualification.
- The Senior Management Accountant needs to be able to work independently as well as part of a core London Reporting Team.
- Intermediate/advanced level of Excel
- Quick to learn and adaptable to changing work allocation and able to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines.
- Organised and excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Strong communication & relationship building skills in both Finance Team and in the EssenceMediaCom business.
- Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
