Astute's EPC Contract Power team is partnering with an EPC Contractor within the UK and Global Power Industry to recruit a Deputy Construction Manager on a 9 months initial contract for its Waste to Energy facility based in Chester, Cheshire.
Role Details:
- Day rate: £450.00 to £550.00
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing and managing all construction activities on energy-from-waste projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Support the Construction Manager in the coordination and execution of on-site construction activities, including safety, workforce management, and adherence to environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of energy-from-waste projects, managing issues that may arise during the construction phase.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on the status of construction activities, ensuring key milestones are met on schedule.
- Enforce safety protocols by conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Assist with procurement and supply chain management, ensuring that materials and equipment are available as required for the timely progression of the construction phase.
- Support budget management by tracking construction-related expenses; ensure cost efficiency; identify areas where savings can be made without compromising quality.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all necessary permits, licenses, and local regulations for energy-from-waste operations (if required).
- Review and resolve any technical issues that arise on-site; provide recommendations and solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor construction teams; ensure they are equipped with necessary skills/resources for efficient project execution while promoting a collaborative team culture.
- Assist with commissioning activities; ensure smooth transition from construction phases into operational handover.
- Hold several years experience working across the Power Industry including Waste to Energy, Biomass, OCGT or CCGT plants.
