Job description:

Key Accountabilities
- Working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), the Technical Product Owner will:
- Fulfil the role of the SAFe Product Owner within the development team.
- Engage stakeholders to elicit, elaborate and document the full range of requirements.
- Translate requirements into Features and User Stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
- Own, maintain, refine and prioritise the team backlog with input from the team.
- Review and accept completed work from the team on behalf of stakeholders.
- Work closely with Product Managers and Solution Managers to align backlog to business strategy and agree scope of solutions to be developed.
- Keep informed about how solution is performing and be proactive in driving improvements and fixes.
- Create or contribute to creation of business process models and workflows.
- Organise, participate in, and support key SAFe and Product Management processes.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- As part of this role, the Technical Product Owner will:
- Work with a wide variety of stakeholders to elicit requirements and demonstrate solutions.
- Provide direction and leadership to Scrum delivery teams.
- Help set/manage stakeholder expectations both inside/outside organisation.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to determine scope/priority capabilities delivered.
- Provide consultancy/subject matter expertise across business as needed.

Decision-making & Problem Solving
- As part of this role, the Technical Product Owner will:
- Make decisions regarding software operation in consultation with architects/developers/testers/UX/UI designers ensuring solutions remain customer-focused/fit for purpose.
- Control/negotiate/manage solution scope carefully.
- Work closely with Product Managers resolving/minimising negative commercial/customer impacts.
- Collaborate with Project Managers/other teams/departments/organisations identifying/coordinating delivery dependencies.
- Contribute feedback/ideas driving continuous improvement.

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications
To succeed in this role, a Technical Product Owner must have:
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, Software Analyst, Software Design Analyst, Business Analyst or Systems Analyst or similar.
- Expert level understanding on eliciting/elaborating requirements translating these into Features/User Stories clear acceptance criteria.
- Strong technical background/demonstrable business analysis skill set.
- Experience designing/building/delivering software as a service.
- Experience working within development team daily basis.

Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications
- IT related degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working in agile environment.
- Payments industry experience.
- Experience delivering highly available services.
