NES Fircroft are working on behalf of an industry leading power cabling client, sourcing a Site Manager. Supporting our client on their high profile project.

Role Overview
The Site Manager is responsible for the Planning and Execution of Civil Engineering and Cable Installation works part of the overall execution Project. The role has been assessed as outside IR35 so can allow Ltd Company working (pending a personal assessment). For the correct, competent and suitable candidate, the role will be based on a 12-month renewable contract with a 4 week notice period. There is a Per Diem and Accommodation can be expensed.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- The Site Manager is responsible for the Planning and Execution of Civil Engineering and Cable Installation works part of the overall execution Project.
- Related work: route planning, linear duct installation, reinstatement, HDD trenchless crossings, HV cable Joint Bay construction.
- Management of involved subcontractors as well as the internal resources assigned to the relevant scope, monitoring against Quality inspection and test plan.
- Ensure status reporting to the wider project team.
- Ensure good communications and coordination with the relevant internal and external parties.
- Ensure progress as per project programme; suggest and implement mitigations in case of schedule slippage.
- Identify risks (including QHSE) and opportunities; conduct proactive work; decide on actions to mitigate identified risks or realise opportunities.
- Ensure that work is performed according to Health & Safety and Environmental plans and regulations.
- Responsible for installation/service both qualitatively and quantitatively performed in the best possible way taking into account required time, resource, and cost frames.

Competencies and Qualifications Required for the Position
- Education: Preferably Degree or formal qualification in civil engineering/Construction Management or equivalent alternatively relevant practical experience obtained from a similar role.
- Experience: Previous proven experience from turn-key land cable installation projects including civils & cable installation scope; preferably having outlined understanding of marine cable installations at landfalls as marine interconnectors may be part of project interface.
- Qualification: UK NVQ/SMSTS; CSCS card to suit role; Black or Gold; Temporary works Experience/awareness.
- Social Skills: High capacity to establish good relations with client & subcontractor representatives at all levels; skill to manage a team.
- Communication: Ability to write & review high quality documentation such as method statements, risk assessments & construction plans being technically accurate.
- Technical & Safety: Technical knowledge related to cable installation such as civil engineering works, duct installation & HDDs; good knowledge related to safety & quality works within turn key installation execution projects.
