Summary of Role:
- Be the lead engineering representative on the project and the main point of contact for all engineering matters on a project.
- Responsible for engineering delivery in terms of quality, compliance, meeting requirements, safety, value for money and schedule.
- Be the senior manager on the project for all engineering resource.
- Generate, validate and maintain a complete list of engineering, design, validation and verification and handover deliverables and ensure these are delivered in accordance with the programme requirements.
- Ensure that the Engineering Requirements are suitable & appropriate.
- Recommend the budget and programme to the Project Manager to deliver design.
- Assess suitability of engineering design resources (both internal and external) to execute facility design. Ensure adequate competency and competency records.
- Lead, drive, communicate and deliver designs with due regard to safety, quality, schedule cost effectiveness and lifetime value for money.
- Maintain oversight of design as it develops via routine reviews.
- Deliver design solutions that meet business needs functional performance through life performance that is licensable & deliverable.
- Manage Design Intent & Design Information Configuration from inception through to project handover.
- Provide functional support in identifying & implementing change development improvement.

Essential Requirements:
HNC/D. Formal Project Management/Delivery qualifications (e.g., MAPM). Skills Delivery of cross-discipline Design packages in a multi-discipline environment. Design information configuration control for life of project Ability to write technical specifications & briefs. Multi-disciplinary Design leadership both technically & performance Some areas require experience delivering projects in high hazard environments (For example: flammable/explosive/radioactive). Skilled at leading developing people conducting performance development reviews Experience managing both external suppliers & in-house teams delivering Project design packages Experience all aspects project life-cycle: Establishment requirements problem definition Developing designing solutions Configuration management application change control Extensive experience working highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear/or explosives) Experience leading multi-discipline groups delivery designs across asset life Experience working within commercial frameworks such as New Engineering Contract Experience other sub-functions i.e., design construction commissioning quality control within projects Able deliver designs within Nuclear Site Licence specifically conditions LC19 Construction Installation New Plant; LC20 Modifications Design Plant Under Construction LC 22 Modification Experiment Existing Plant Experience working requirements CDM 2015 Must be willing able obtain maintain security clearance required role Implementation commissioning Knowledge engineered plant systems at least one following areas: Production/Process plant equipment Building Services Utilities distribution engineering Experience HAZOP process.
Desirable Requirements:
Membership an Engineering Institute minimum level I Eng (or equivalent). Engineering Degree (Hons). Chartered Engineer (or equivalent).
