Job Profile Summary
- Responsible for leading the overall design, maintenance, and implementation of the standard HVDC Control and Protection System Cabinets. This includes creating the control cabinet design documentation, interconnection diagrams, design guides, and overseeing the system roll out processes. They will work across various engineering disciplines within the HVDC business.
Roles And Responsibilities
This role involves leading the team and providing guidance in the following tasks:
1. Maintain and manage the evolution of standard cabinet designs and their associated datapacks.
2. Publish and deliver a regular release plan for each product its supporting standard documentation tools ensuring that cabinet datapacks "How to" Design Guides are in a constantly project-ready form. The Datapack documentation includes circuit diagrams wire/cable lists assembly drawings BoMs test spec configuration specs.
3. Regularly review Technical Queries (TQs) from approved manufacturers queries received from clients that relate to products or their associated standardized documentation feedback from Project Engineers.
4. Prioritize agree with solution owners which clarifications updates should be adopted next periodic standard datapack update.
5. Continually look for execution efficiencies gained from standardization tasks required support product delivery manufacture through site installation.
6. Work with type test specialists within Product Care team keep type test certification reports up-to-date available acceptable form clients.
7. Assist in designing standardisation LANs / Communication Architectures configuration industrial ethernet switches / routers satellite clocks.
8. Manage update ensure compliance departmental standard design practices guidelines processes across all projects.
9. Maintain awareness relevant IEC standards.
10. Assist expansion second sources seamlessly manage changes forced obsolescence components core product (e.g., power supplies ethernet switches cabinet metal work etc.).
11. Continuously improve product terms delivery speed stability reliability increasing percentage standard documentation used every project.
12. Work other HVDC teams control room layout teams particular extend scope standard design cover more substation control room maintain strong working relationship NPI project delivery tendering teams stay aware objectives customer requirements future.
13.
